New York is and has always been one of the cultural capitals of the world and that is because of the millions of arts workers who live and create here. But due to the pandemic many of those arts workers had to leave their city of choice, no longer able to afford the already high rents with no income. Theaters and venues closed. Now as we begin to “re-emerge” what will that mean for arts workers in NYC? What is the role and responsibility of the city and its businesses to support the arts community? What kind of affordable housing should be created? What are the hopes and desires of arts workers in nyc?
These are some of the questions we have been pondering here at Flobel and now you can join too:
Introducing STILL NY a web docuseries in which hosts Jana, Alex & Dan interview a variety of arts workers from all different backgrounds about the current state of the arts in post-pandemic NY.
