Last month was a whirlwind of travels for me, from Brazil (what an AMAZING trip!), to Jamaica, and then another (of what will hopefully be the last) eye surgery for me.
On Tap for this month…
We are SO close to wrapping up the third studio build-out expansion at Grooves Unlimited. Next steps include finalizing the graffitti for the back wall and laying the floor.
Soon I’ll be off to Douglasville, Georgia again for another retreat with my mastermind group. I won’t be teaching any workshops this time around, but I’ll be back out there again in the New Year hopefully with some classes planned out.
When I get back, we’ll be hosting a West African dance workshop at Grooves on November 17th with live drumming. West African is one of my favorite dance styles. I truly do miss the days of living a 20 minute train ride away from Alvin Ailey and dropping into those classes. Tap dance and Hip-Hop are both so heavily rooted in West African tradition and we’re excited to bring this workshop and energy into the studio. This workshop is open for any and all who are interested in joining us, open level.
FutureSTEP will then make a group trip to NJPAC to see Maurice Hines’ Tappin’ Thru Life and then we’ll go straight into a filming session for their next music video.
And then it’s time for some R&R in celebration of Thanksgiving.
I’ve also made some heavy updates to iTapOnline that I’m excited to start rolling out. I just kicked off the next round of my 99-day iTapOnline Teacher Training Program and am loving every minute of working with these dedicated tap dance teachers from all around the world. I’m also kicking off new LIVE Sessions for iTapOnline Family Members. And I’m continuing to post a new weekly episode of the Lost in the Shuffle Tap Dance Podcast.
What are you up to this month? Let me know if I can look forward to seeing you soon.
P.S. Did you check out my newest video, UNPLUGGED?
