Posted on September 12, 2019 above, Spontaneous tat shot from our last gathering, arm of guitarist Eric Vanderzee Happy Labor Day, Everyone! Next week’s SECOND TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2019 will be at a DIFFERENT LOCATION in the Vilalge instead of St. John’s in the Village on Waverly Place WE WILL BE AT ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH at 81 CHRISTOPHER STREET NYC 10014 near 7th Avenue South 212-242-5737 I know this sounds confusing, but it will be easy …just walk to Christopher Street, The venue is very close to the #1 train Christopher Street Station MAP We are collaborating with another group for a special event! Here are more details from collaborator Gordon Gilbert, Jr.: Dear Musicians and Spoken Word Artists, What are your own personal memories of September 11th, 2001? What were you doing when you learned what was happening, or later, what had happened? How were you affected by the tragic events of that day, and the days that followed? This year, for the 8th time, I will be hosting a 9/11 Remembrance program. But this year, sadly, it will not be at at the Cornelia Street Café. Instead, it will be at St John’s Lutheran Church on Christopher Street, on Tuesday, September 10th, from 7 to 10 pm. It will be an evening of poetry, monologues, music and song expressing personal remembrances of 9/11. Because this is about our own individual experiences, I must insist that participants do not engage in rants, diatribes or political statements; just personal remembrances of that day. Writers are being allocated 4 minutes; singers/songwriters & musicians get 5 minutes, which must include set-up time. If you would like to participate, and share with us your own personal experience of that tragic event and the next few days, either in prose, poetry, music or song, please let us know. We may bring our own bottles and food to enjoy while respectfully supporting our colleagues. There is plenty of seating in the sanctuary. peace and love, Gordon Please RSVP to me so that I can communicate to Gordon regarding the number of participants we can expect. More peace and love, Hannah We’ll be delighted to see you all! On Tuesday, October 8th we will return to ST. JOHN’S IN THE VILLAGE 218 WEST 11TH STREET corner of Waverly Place See Full Newsletter
