“Smoky classics, bluesy originals, and a handful of offbeat songs all the more welcome for being underexposed… Guitarist Ron Affif and bassist Ken Filiano wrap their strings gently around Wolper’s rich voice.” (Time Out New York)

Hello! I hope you’re doing well. This is a quick reminder of my upcoming live-stream trio reunion gig, which you can view from the privacy of your computer, phone, or tablet. Some readers of this newsletter may remember my trio with Ron Affif and Ken Filiano, which culminated in our recording, “The Small Hours,” on the VarisOne.Jazz label. Life is full of twists and turns, and this trio hasn’t played together since 2006 – I mean, 14 years, come on! You can imagine how much I’m looking forward to this. And I’ll be thrilled to pieces if you’ll tune in to watch and listen. Please mark your calendar:

“Much more than either singer with accompaniment, or band with singer; it is a cooperative trio of which every member is an equal part. One result of this is a strong sense of unity and mutual understanding.”(Bruce Crowther, Jazz Journal International)

Just for fun, here’s a little teaser of something I’ve been working on.
I can’t wait to show it to you when the time is right:
Finally, before I sign off:

“We do not have government by the majority.
We have government by the majority who participate.”

– Thomas Jefferson

Love, Andrea
