With Amanda Wansa Morgan, Coordinator of Musical Theatre
& Artistic Director at Kennesaw State University

September 9th: 10-2
October 7th: 10-2

Live at the Balzer!

Learn skills in the following areas and work on small bite-sized excerpts to put them into practice: composing, music technology, lyric-writing, musical theatre structure, musical theatre style.

In the first session, Amanda will lead participants through activities in these various areas as well as break down the elements with simplicity and imagination. The goal is to make composing fun for anyone regardless of music training or background. She will send participants away to work on a topic of their choice through a selection of prompts. Participants will return to the second session with material to workshop in a variety of fun ways.  Additional sessions may occur to further develop ideas that take flight.

This class will benefit anyone looking to write new musical theatre material or musicalize pre-existing dramatic material or adaptations.
