A little ask from Veritas Studio Wines
Some ten years ago I was invited to open a wine shop in Hell’s Kitchen. I was skeptical at first not having visited this neighborhood for some 15 years or so. Why would I go there? But what I found was a thriving community filling newly built modern high-rises, parents and children walking to school, a thriving restaurant scene and flourishing “gay” community having fled overpriced Chelsea. The shop would be located on a side street (not ideal) in an old film production studio but I was ultimately convinced that we could succeed. And we have. Almost ten years in we have become a favorite of the neighborhood attracting a perfect cross section of Hell’s Kitchen. Young and old. Gay and straight. Ex-pats. And every color of the rainbow. We’ve had our ups and downs. With COVID drinking was top of mind and sales soared. Post COVID, customers pulled back, sighting over-indulging many going cold turkey altogether. Today we battle inflation, edibles and a high rate of residential migration (people moving out) – so were always searching for new customers.
So, as happens over the last four years – we ask you to vote for Veritas Studio Wines as the BEST RETAILER in Hell’s Kitchen in the annual W42ST competition. We have been runner up four years straight and it would be great to get over the finish line in our tenth year. (You need not vote for any other categories if you don’t know otherwise), but your vote for Veritas would be greatly appreciated.
