Experiencing the World, One Dance at a Time
Dear Bare Feet Fans,
I had the honor and privilege of being able to share some JOY and DANCE with the Bare Feet family here in NYC – on Tuesday, April 29th (International Dance Day!), together with Tourism Ireland, we hosted the Bare Feet Season 7 Launch Party, kicking off 15 years of Bare Feet and the premiere of the newest season of the show on PBS.  It was over 125 of us coming together to get a taste of what was in store for this new season, including a short screening, libations from McConnell’s Irish Whisky (without the E), live Irish dance and music provided by Niall O’Leary and friends, and then of course, a proper Irish Ceili to get everyone on the dance floor!  Check out the highlights HERE – full video of the event is coming soon, stay tuned!Last month’s event was a beautiful reminder to celebrate the wins, no matter how big or small they are.  Later that week, we learned of the proposed defunding of public media, putting stations like PBS and NPR at risk.  Then, only last week, we learned of the potential closure of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), which helps support arts organizations across the country, including a majority of the dance and music organizations that we feature on Bare Feet!I am so proud that Bare Feet is part of the public media system, sharing stories of connection with the world thru the arts – and I am even prouder for the launch of this new Season 7, of sharing even MORE stories of JOY, DANCE, and CONNECTION from around the world.
Thank you all for your support and for your trust in us to share these stories with you.Much love,
– Mickela Mallozzi
