Ethel Woolson Lab
![]() Ethel Woolson LabClick Here to Support WTP!The Ethel Woolson Lab (named in honor of a generous benefactor) is Working Title Playwrights’ most in-depth developmental opportunity. Up to four plays by WTP member playwrights are selected each year to participate in the EWL. Each recipient is given a 29-hour developmental workshop, culminating in a rehearsed staged reading open to the public. Each selected playwright is partnered with a support team of artists uniquely designed to address the needs of the play and the playwright. This team includes a dramaturg, a director, a stage manager and a cast of actors. The mission of the workshop is to rigorously workshop the play through many revisions and focus on the process, rather than the final product. The team serves as an incubation support system as well as an early audience. This process time is invaluable to playwrights as they continue to develop their work and their voice. In the attached video, playwrights Lee Osario and Mary Lynn Owen describe the value of the Ethel Woolson Lab to their work.A donation of $500 will provide compensation for an actor, director, dramaturg, or playwright participating in a 29-hour Ethel Woolson Lab.Be a part of this essential development resource by making a contribution to Working Title Playwrights today.Click Here to Support WTP!If you would prefer to make a donation by check, please mail your check to Working Title Playwrights, 691 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue NE, Suite C, Atlanta, GA 30312. |
