| It is my pleasure to announce that my new movie, Bad Like Brooklyn Dancehall, will have its World Premier at Tribeca Film Festival TOMORROW at The Indeed Theater at Spring Studios in Tribeca (50 Varick Street). I am proud to be a Producer on this film, along with Misfit Entertainment, Decentralized Pictures, the Jasco Group and Shaggy! This film is the first feature of the year under Ramfis Productions and the second project under the Hyphen Grant. It brings me a lot of joy to have been part of this project as it represents exactly the type of storytelling we want to present to the world: projects that highlight the cultural richness, complexity and quirks of the Caribbean-American.
The tickets for our premier and second screening on June 8th and 9th are SOLD OUT, but you can find a few more spots for the June 15th screening at 5:45 PM. Get your tickets here.
We are happy to also share that Andrew Herwitz and The Film Sales Company has boarded the worldwide sales rights for Bad Like Brooklyn Dancehall. Click the link here for the Screen Daily article to read it!

| Ramfis Productions had its International Launch at Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, May 18th. We were highlighted in the Cannes Screen Daily print and online magazine – the global company pushing and knocking down doors for BIPOC, West Indian, Caribbean, women led and LGBTQ+ stories. Our launch hit capacity within the hour and we had a line around the block until the end of the night. It was great to be there with Misfit Entertainment, and our building hosted two parties every night for the first week at Cannes. We had live performances from the Misfit Trio (spoken word artist Devon, Christian and Leon Carlo playing the cello and violin), live graffiti art. We also had a surprise visit from Davide, a cuban performance artist who is fighting the government and blessed us with his amazing dances. MG and Nic from Cape Town, South Africa prepared bites and drinks, creating the atmosphere we are known for. They also just opened their bar in South Africa, Talking to Strangers, which you can check out here. There was also a secret portion of the building who transported its guests to 1959 Cuba: from Frank Sinatra, to swimming in the pool and chilling in the hot tub, everyone wanted to be at the Misfit house.
Everybody around the world was there at the biggest film festival and I was happy to welcome them in the South of France. It was an even more extraordinary day since it was my birthday, which I celebrated with friends, family and industry colleagues. Could not be more grateful about it all!

| At Cannes, I had the opportunity of speaking on multiple panels. One of them is Authentic Stories: Diversity & Inclusion in Today’s Film Marketplace. Through a conversation from unique perspectives, this panel will explored the importance of representation, equity, and inclusion in film production. As well as, the impact of diverse storytelling on audiences, industry trends, and the business of filmmaking.
Me, along with AJ Leon and James Cole launched our new service company: Hyphen Productions. At Hyphen Productions we offer consulting and Executive Producer assistance for any budget level, experience level, and genre, including full service support in creative, executive, and logistical areas. You can find more information here, and you can contact us by using the website!
The panels were packed and streamed live and I am grateful to have been part of such inspiring conversations at Cannes Film Festival.

| May started off with the Rocaberti Retreat! I have a lot of gratitude towards Claire Elizabeth for bringing me to work with 17 writers from all over the world and all walks of life and ages who were very serious about their careers. Each day started off with meditation, having and energy healer and a reiki practitioners guide us through the morning. After that, we would all have breakfast and then 3 hours session of working with the mentees on their projects. I helped them become a better pitcher in under 3 minutes and gave them feedback. All mentees were very spiritual, aligned, kind, hard-workers and asked very good questions. It was a learning process on both sides and the magical atmosphere of the castle was contagious. The castle is actually a 14th Century Marouatte Castle in the heart of Southwestern France owned by music industry legend Miles Copeland, former manager of Sting and The Police. |

| This summer is starting off with the production of my new feature film, Urban Ed. You can find more info about the project on IMDB by following this link. What you should expect? When their small charter school is shut down in the middle of the academic year, a group of at-risk inner city students comes face-to-face with America’s broken education system and a world that’s full of contradicting lessons. We start production on July 13 in Western Massachusetts and I am very excited to be there with the team. |
| You heard me talking about this project many times, as its success had exceeded everyone’s expectations. Unidentified Objects just had its theatrical premier at Cinema Village in NYC. We had a sold out screening, the team was there for a Q&A sessions and the crowd loved it. We have additional screenings all over the country:
LA
NYC
San Francisco
Austin

| After Cannes ended, I went to the Monaco Grand Prix with part of the Ramfis Productions team, friends and industry colleagues. It was an incredible experience to be there during such an important event – the weather was incredible and everybody was cheering for their favorite ones. Either watching from yachts, tribunes, or over the hills of Monaco, everybody was there to have a good time. We found an incredible James Bond type of boat and saw the sunset on the water. Absolutely ecstatic experience! Can’t wait to be back next year to the South of France! |
