From Wikipedia:

Today, Blue is generally regarded by music critics as one of the greatest albums of all time, with Mitchell’s songwriting and compositions being frequent areas of praise. In January 2000, The New York Times chose Blue as one of the 25 albums that represented “turning points and pinnacles in 20th-century popular music.”

As many of you know, I was drawn to Joni’s music to study and perform “Blue” in 2012 to heal myself from the terrible pain I felt when my dad was dying of dementia. That pain and longing moved me to create our short film, My Father’s House, A Journey of Love & Memory.

My sister, Kim, first played the album for me when I was 13 and she was 15. I was spellbound and listened to it again and again. Like other people who know BLUE, the record became a part of me.

I’m always humbled and honored to share Joni Mitchell’s unique and timeless music together with my colleagues — we’re going on our 11th year of this show. We’ve got a surprise this time around, too.

Hint: David Crosby passed away recently and we plan to honor him!

Thanks to Michele, Scott, Mike, Micah, Mark, Audrey, Rebecca, and Keith for joining me. I can’t wait to rehearse!

Write to me when you have time. Tell me your news and let me know how you are these days.

I love hearing from you and I’ll be happy to take a break!

Yours with love,

Hannah
