We at the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute (SCCI) are in deep gratitude to you. It is our honor to lead in continually supporting the legacy of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm and her vision for a sustainable future. Last month, Shirley’s legacy was referenced in an interactive exercise by Salzburg Global Seminar Director Dominic Regester in Salzburg, Austria at the Civic and Civil Engagement: Identity, Belonging, and Education in the 21st Century: Salzburg Global Seminar. SCCI joined 42 leaders from 20 countries representing 39 organizations, an immersive space for growth, development and interconnectedness brilliantly curated by the Salzburg Global Seminar Team. So many leaders were interested in Congresswoman Chisholm’s legacy, which served as a reminder we must continue the work. Also, from a local level, please see below the video tribute to Congresswoman Chisholm with NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Commissioner Laurie Cumbo and me. SCCI looks forward to our continual engagements and partnerships leading into Congresswoman Chisholm’s 100th birthday. Yes, it’ll be our Shirley’s 100th birthday in 2024, and our goal is to uplift her legacy in this crucial time for America and the globe. Together, we are and will make a difference!
