Andrea’s News And a Request

Hello! I hope you’re doing well in this new year. If you’ve been on this list awhile you might recognize the header image, which I took last January during an artist’s residency in the Swiss Alps. Feeling a bit nostalgic, I thought I’d revisit it.

I’ve got some performances coming up I want to tell you about (Manhattanites who’ve been waiting for me to play in your borough, now’s the time!). Scroll down just a bit to see the details.Everyone, no matter where you are, some big news: I can now officially announce that my new CD, Wanderlust, will be released into the world on April 12th. In anticipation, I have a couple favors to ask you:If you’re a Bandcamp customer, please go here:
https://andreawolper.bandcamp.com
and hit the FOLLOW button so you’ll be among the first to know when the recording is ready for pre-sale. You’ll also see that my older recordings, previously unavailable there, can be purchased on Bandcamp now, so click on any of the other album covers for more info. As far as I can tell, Bandcamp remains the best way to buy music from independent musicians, so if you’re not a customer there, please consider becoming one.

Next…deep breath…Spotify. It’s more evil than ever, but “Wanderlust” will be released there and on other streaming services (all the various streaming services already have some of my previous releases), so please be sure to follow me at your platform of choice.
CLICK: SPOTIFY and then follow
CLICK: APPLE MUSIC and then follow

Ignore the bio on these sites. It’s from a music data base that ends up on all the other sites. Problem is, it’s badly out of date and contains numerous errors, including making me several years older than I actually am (I mean, okay, but please don’t rush me!). I’ve tried to get it corrected and updated but the Internet is forever. Oh, well. There are worse things.P.S.#2 On the various music platforms you’ll also see other people’s recordings that I appear on. My complete discography can be seen here:

Jazz Vespers at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
619 Lexington Ave., NYC (Enter on E. 54th St.)
St. Peter’s has long been known as the church to New York’s jazz community, presenting live jazz in a variety of settings, including their lovely Sunday evening Vespers services. You don’t have to be any particular religion (or any religion), I think, to find the Vespers services meaningful. I’m looking forward to being back, this time in a duo with the wonderful pianist, Carmen Staaf—our first time playing together!  Free. CLICK for details.Wednesday, Feb. 147 – 8 pm

You can bet I’m excited about this. Room 623 is a charming, intimate jazz club, it’s small, so reservations are recommended. I’ll be doing a set with John Di Martino and Ken Filiano; we’ll preview a few songs from “Wanderlust,” and best of all, this will be livestreamed and coordinated with Jocelyn Medina’s Sunday Vocal Jam.
