Planet Reimagined
From Adam: Post-Election PrioritiesReflecting on the U.S. election, and my view from afar into the goings-on in Baku, I still see some areas for hope. In the U.S., even with the fear that a new administration will roll back environmental protections, it seems that policymakers on both sides of the aisle don’t want to end clean energy incentives, 80% of which have benefited Republican districts. The future of climate action in the U.S. will have new paths towards possibility. So much can happen at the state and local level, and Planet Reimagined will be part of it.You can read my analysis of priorities here: A Post-Election Roadmap for Climate Action
Amplify Climate Wins + Talking Climate Recognition Reinforcing the potential impact of climate action at state and local level, our Amplify advocacy approach contributed to positive policy steps in seven states. Wins included:    Wisconsin voted NO on Questions 1 and 2 in the August primary, protecting the governor’s ability to use federal money to address climate change. On the AJR tour, 350 Wisconsin engaged with fans at Summerfest, urging them to vote no.California voted YES on Prop 4, authorizing $10 billion in bonds to support environmental and climate projects. On the AJR tour, Youth Climate Strike LA engaged with fans at the Kia Forum to support the proposition.Washington voters protected the state’s landmark cap-and-invest system by voting NO on 2117. The campaign used the Amplify model to drive voter engagement with the help of artists like Bikini Kill, Killer Mike, and the Dave Matthews Band. We also got a terrific shout-out from Katherine Hayhoe, the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, in her popular newsletter, Talking Climate. Calling our work “THE INSPIRATION OF THE MONTH,” she applauded our partnership with AJR’s The Maybe Man Tour in driving thousands of fans to take climate action and shared the Amplify report, saying, “Shouldn’t everyone be doing this?”
