Hello, friends!

We’re reaching out today with some exciting news. Last month, we launched a beautiful new website for you. It’s another step in our plan to elevate and amplify the voices of our community, and to tell the stories that will break the stigma surrounding the experience of chronic illness and disability. So many of you are featured prominently throughout the site, and we are so grateful for your stories, for your trust, and for your presence in this community. Thank you for coming along on this journey with us!

If you haven’t had the chance to check out the new website yet, take a look. It was designed and built by the incredibly talented, Antia Cheung. When we first talked to Anita about our desire to build an accessible website that centered community stories, she jumped in head first. Anita helped us to find new ways to highlight our programs and share your stories, and we are so grateful for her work. Anita is also no stranger to the power of storytelling, check out her TedX talk, “The Bravery to Begin Again,” today.

Along with the launch of this new website, we’re also excited to announce some new opportunities for gathering and for storytelling!

  • Though we won’t be gathering in person this year, The 5th Annual Spoonie Collective is moving forward on Zoom. Registration is full, but we will have a few events that are open to the public. Head to our Instagram page to learn more about how you can get involved.
  • We are creating paid opportunities for our community to share their stories in 2021. We’ll be looking for people to write illness & disability content each month. Stay tuned for more information coming your way soon.
  • Have an idea for a virtual event? Want to partner with us or invite us to host a workshop in your community? Let us know.

We can’t wait to hear what you think of the new site! If you have any feedback you’d like to share, please send it our way. Thank you so much for your continued support.

Sending love, spoons, and strength,

Allie & The STS Team
