Going Above Campaign | Fighting for NYC seniors still in isolation
Posted on August 24, 2020
We hope you and your loved ones are doing well during these challenging times. For the past 49 years, every Fall our Annual Gala has been a centerpiece of the New York philanthropic and social calendars. It brings together friends, supporters, partners and volunteers to celebrate the incredible work of our organization as we raise critical funds to support our senior centers and programs. After much consideration surrounding the current health crisis, we will not be able to come together to celebrate NYC seniors in person this year.
Like everything at CBN, when a challenge is presented, we rise above and find a way to overcome and continue the work that must go on. We are very excited to announce the launch of the 2020 Carter Burden Network Going Above Campaign, in conjunction with National Senior Citizen’s Day on Friday, which will help us to continue to fight for NYC seniors still in isolation.
Although our centers have had to close for the safety of NYC’s beloved seniors, the work has not stopped–meal distribution, phone-based counseling and check-ins, and virtual programming have been happening daily and remain critical to their well-being. We are doing everything we can to make sure that every senior knows they matter and that they will always belong.
As we look ahead to celebrating our 50th Anniversary in 2021, our incredible history shows us that nothing can keep us from the commitment we all have to take care of our City’s most vulnerable seniors in their time of need. All contributions to the Going Above Campaign are fully tax deductible and I hope you will join us in fighting for NYC seniors still in isolation by visiting our campaign site.
