Mendez SoHo Salon to Feature Muralist, Richard Haas – Sunday, September 18, 3PM

Dianne G Mendez

Mendez SoHo, Soho Strut and The Florence Belsky Foundation are delighted to announce the Second Season of Occasional Salons, gatherings of collectors, curators, artists, writers and art enthusiasts who meet and mingle in a informal setting to show their works of art, discuss their sources of inspiration, and share their perspectives on the development of their artistic endeavor, as well as their choice of subject matter and medium. After giving a short talk about their work, each featured artist will be available from 3-5PM for one-on-one interaction with Salon attendees.  There is no charge for admission, but reservations are required.  RSVP HERE

The September 18 Salon features Richard Haas.  The early influence of Frank Lloyd Wright led to Haas’ career as an internationally recognized Trompe L’Oeil artist working in SoHo. His remarks and power point presentation will focus on the creation and execution of a stunning mural on the East facade of a building at the corner of Greene and Prince Streets. Completed in the 1970’s and since ravaged by time and graffiti, this iconic mural is currently undergoing restoration. Read the full story here:
