Bio: Vanessa Silberman is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and record producer from Brooklyn, NY (via Los Angeles, CA). She also runs an artist development label called A Diamond Heart Production ( and is the East Coast A&R Director for New High Recordings. Vanessa's live shows and music has been compared to the raw bare bones rock 'n roll of Nirvana along with the appeal of Liz Phair and Chrissie Hynde, authenticity of classic artists such as Patti Smith and Neil Young mixed with the pop sensibilities of commercial radio artists such as Green Day and Metric. Widely known for having a very strong DIY ethic and wearing many different hats in the music business —is the past Vanessa has worked for heavy hitter's in the music business such as Producer / Songwriter Dr.Luke as well as for many companies and places ranging from the Foo Fighter's Studio 606 to Epitaph Records. Vanessa has also Engineered for everyone from Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T Rex) to Kimbra & Harper Simon. She is also a Recording Academy Grammy Member, the co-chair of the New York Chapter of and part of California Women’s Music board and often hosts panels and webinars. named the touring singer and guitarist one of the hardest working bands of 2019, 2018 as well as 2017 (as she managed to play over 200 shows that year alone). Vanessa has done over 20 tours between 2015-2020 and played over 800 shows across the U.S. as well as in the UK and Europe supporting 2 EP’s (Brighter in Bloom & self-titled) and various singles released through her label, a 7” through Resurrection Records / ADHP as well as a cassette released by ADHP. Vanessa discovered most of her first records through Columbia House (10 cds for a penny) and grew up constantly on the move, between Kauai HI with her mom, and the CA Bay Area with her father. At one point the youngster lived in ten different places in a month during grade school. It’s no wonder she adapted so naturally to the touring life and living on the road gigging. Vanessa launched a single a month project in March 2020, kicking it off with the anthemic and strong ‘Who We Are’ (3/6/20) Her 2nd single ‘All the Kids’ (4/3/20) explored more punk sounds mixed & pop elements and her 3rd single ‘Back in the Day’ (5/8/20) dove in deeper to more pop production. ‘Hey All’ Vanessa’s 4th single of 2020 (6/5/20) got a bit heavier but with a positive message. ‘Written in the Stars’ (7/3/20) stepped away from the grungy sound and dove into a different direction with lush strings, piano, beats & vulnerable lyrics. ‘Down’ (8/21/20) was energetic, punky and  all about lifting people up. ‘Something To Believe In’ (9/30) explores a totally new territory with a southern and western film inspired musical feel and Lana Del Rey type vocals. Staying true to her DIY roots, the 2020 material s all self-produced, engineered, recorded, programmed, performed, played mixed and mastered by Vanessa herself. Some of the new singles will also include various featured artists. Her current line up includes actor/musician Ryan Carnes on drums, who also has added creative input / drum consulting on the singles. In the past Silberman has toured solo as well as featured other various musicians backing her. She has also toured under the ‘Vanessa Silberman Band’ which features Reed Mullin, drummer of Corrosion of Conformity and producer / musician Mikel Ross. Vanessa released her 2nd EP ‘Brighter in Bloom’ in the fall of 2019 on her label A Diamond Heart Production (Symphonic Distribution) - The 4 song EP was self-produced and recorded by her with additional production and engineering by Mikel Ross at Lucky Recording Company and A Diamond Heart Production. The EP was mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Greg Graffin, The Used) and Oliver Roman at the Foo Fighters Studio Studio 606 and mastered by Jett Galindo (Illuminati Hotties, the Interrupters) at The Bakery. Vanessa did a 3 part touring and recording artist series with Today at Apple where she spoke and performed at their San Francisco Union Square store through the winter of 2018-2019. She also did numerous tours, festivals and performed at NAMM 2019 as well as at various showcases during SXSW 2019. In 2018 Vanessa toured the U.S multiple times and played a few select dates in the UK & Europe. Kevin Lyman & the Ernie ball / Full Sail Stage, Shiragirl and the Transform Stage selected her to play on 3 different dates of the final Vans Warped Tour. She also released a single called “Outswimming Sharks” through her label that was recorded by Ken Susi of the band Unearth which was premiered by Vanessa has also supported Alkaline Trio, R.Ring (featuring Kelley Deal of The Breeders), Selector Dub Narotic (Calvin Johnson founder of K Records), and played SXSW, NAMM, Lobster Fest (San Pedro, CA) and Star City Music Festival (San Francisco, CA) to name a few. Recent features include a Popular TV, Clout, v13, Fame Global Magazine, The Wimn, Parade Magazine, Billboard in Times Square, New Noise Magazine,, Bushwick Daily, and Girlunderground. She has also been featured on the cover of Roswell Daily Record, Columbia Daily Tribune, The Fort Stockton Pioneer as well as had features in the Monterey County Weekly,, Times Herald, Star Tribune, The Source Weekly,,, Davis Enterprise, Statesmen Journal, Vanessa’s 2020 singles ‘Who We Are’, ‘All the Kids’, ‘Back in the Day’, ‘Hey All’, ‘Down’ as well as the Brighter in Bloom songs ‘Love’ & ‘Don’t have all received multiple plays on The Rodney Bingenheimer Show The Underground Garage on SiriusXM, single ‘Love’ from Brighter in Bloom’ charted #33 in the top 40 of the Friday Morning Quarterback.
