Bio: Susan Copperman is Vice President of Industry Programming at The Paley Center for Media. She manages Paley’s Media Council, a membership community for leaders in media-related industries. In addition to leading the development of programming, Susan oversees Paley’s annual International Council, the center’s flagship event where global media luminaries convene to discuss industry insights, exchange ideas, and foster community.
Previously, Susan worked at Dow Jones as the Executive Director of Programming for The Wall Street Journal conferences. Working with the Journal's editorial team, she produced timely and newsmaking events. In addition to programming existing conferences such as The Wall Street Journal CEO Council and ECO:nomics, Susan led four new events: The Wall Street Journal Executive Task Force for Women in the Economy; The Wall Street Journal CFO Network; The Wall Street Journal CIO Network; and WSJDLive.
Before that, Susan was a member of the global content team and headed global speaker relations at HSM, (now known as Wobi), the producer of the World Business Forum. While there, Susan launched HSM Solutions, packages of syndicated content, which were customized to global organizations' particular needs. Alongside peers, Susan conducted interviews and appeared on television throughout Latin America as a correspondent for HSM's 24/7 cable network, ManagemenTV.
Earlier in her career, Susan held a variety of executive positions at the Institute for International Research, a producer of conferences and training events. Before that she was an agent representing celebrity speakers at The Harry Walker Agency in NYC.
Susan attended Vassar College and received a BA in Anthropology. She holds an MBA from Boston University. Susan has served as a volunteer for the American Diabetes Association and the NYC Ballet and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Isadora Duncan Dance Company. Her other passions include travel, fitness, and nutrition.
