
Bio: Stuart Goodman is an award-winning producer with a remarkably diverse career. He has executive-produced, produced and/or directed films, dramatic television, documentaries, reality, comedy, and sports programming. He is a 30-year member of the Director’s Guild of America. Stuart is also a voting member of BAFTA.
Stuart Goodman is the Executive Producer of “A COUNTRY CHRISTMAS STORY”, a Lifetime Television movie led by musical icon and multiple Grammy winner Dolly Parton and Grammy nominated Brian McKnight).
Stuart is Executive Producer of “MANHUNTERS: FUGITIVE TASK FORCE”, a reality series for A&E Network.
Stuart produced four seasons of the award-winning A&E series, “THE GENERAL MOTORS PLAYWRIGHTS THEATER”, hosted by Lauren Bacall and Anthony Quinn, with episodes starring James Earl Jones, Jose Ferrer, Olympia Dukakis, Jean Stapleton, Patrick Dempsey, Anthony Edwards, Teri Garr, Elizabeth Shue, and Jane Seymour. The series garnered four CableACE Awards. Also for A&E, Mr. Goodman executive produced numerous episodes of “BIOGRAPHY”, including “TEEN IDOLS WEEK” (Brenda Lee, Lesley Gore, Bobby Rydell, Loretta Lynn, Liberace, and James Brown.)
For TNT, Stuart produced Tennessee Williams’ “ORPHEUS DESCENDING”, starring Vanessa Redgrave. As a line producer, union assistant director or UPM he has worked on a number of network movies, including “THE PRIZE PULITZER” starring Courtney Cox, for CBS/ Hallmark, and “LADY IN A CORNER” for NBC. He was the NYC second unit director for “THE ODD COUPLE - TOGETHER AGAIN” with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman for NBC/Paramount, and “ROOM FOR ROMANCE” for CBS.
He was Executive Producer on the feature film “BAILEY’S BILLION$”, Starring, Jennifer Tilly, Tim Curry, Jon Lovetz and Dean Cain. It was released through Echo Bridge and Arclight.
Mr. Goodman was on staff at ABC Television where he worked on thousands of productions, ranging from the “gothic” soap opera “DARK SHADOWS” to the OLYMPIC GAMES to Emmy award- winning dramatic specials. He received four Emmy nominations for his camera work. In addition, he has two Emmy Awards for shows he produced and directed for ABC’s “AMERICAN SPORTSMAN” documentary series.
Other documentaries include “THE BUNNY YEARS”, a two hour special profiling Playboy Bunnies during the 25 year history of the Playboy Clubs, for A&E Network, CTV, and the BBC; for Discovery Channel and Animal Planet, Stuart produced “EDGE OF EXTINCTION: SAVING THE LEATHERBACK SEA TURTLE”, which was nominated for the Canadian Emmy. “STARS & IDOLS”: a Pilot for Global TV in Canada and A&E’s Biography Channel.
For CBS Sports Spectacular Stuart Produced/ Directed “SHARK TAGGING” an underwater Reality/Competition special, challenging teams of divers tagging wild sharks for points.
For the CBC and A&E network, “BLACK LIGHT DREAMS” a television special, profiling the “Famous People Players” of Toronto. Special Jury Award Winner from the Chicago International Television Festival.
