Bio: Stephanie Gorin is a second year law student at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. At Cardozo, Stephanie is a Staff Editor on the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution, a journal that specializes in alternative dispute resolution. She is writing her note on contemporary landlord tenant issues. Stephanie was also selected to participate in the Bet Tzedek Legal Services Clinic, a civil litigation clinic, where she represents clients in housing and insurance matters. She also drafts wills for clients through the clinic. Additionally, she serves as a Teaching Assistant for Lawyering and Legal Writing and is the Vice President of Cardozo’s Real Estate Law Association. This past summer, Stephanie was a legal intern for The Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey, where she researched case law and drafted bench memoranda and opinions on a variety of complex legal issues, including anticipatory repudiation and class action standing. Stephanie’s career interests include real estate, labor and employment and litigation. Prior to law school, Stephanie served as a clerk at the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, where she assisted special legal counsel in drafting letters to fraudulent and potentially fraudulent claimants. She also worked as a summer intern during college at Essex Newark Legal Services in the expungement department. She graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor with a B.A. in History and a Minor in Crime and Justice in 2011 and spent a semester abroad studying at Tel Aviv University.
