Bio: Rick graduated from Emory University in 1983 with a BBA in finance.
After school, Rick joined Wechsler & Co, a broker dealer focused on convertible securities. He became a partner and a managing director in charge of trading.
After 15 years at Wechsler, Rick joined Paloma as a portfolio manager. He ran a convertible arbitrage book as well as a long short equity book focused on technology stocks.
In 2000, Rick became a founding partner of Amaranth, a multi-strategy market neutral hedge fund. There he ran global convertible arbitrage and a long short equity book. He also was a member of the executive committee.
Rick joined Verition, another multi- strategy market neutral fund, in 2008.
Rick currently serves on the board and audit committee of Aspen Group (ticker: ASPU), a for profit on-line higher learning institution. He also serves on the boards of ID Global Solutions (ticker: IDGS), Carii, and Unaliwear, among others.
From 2014 to 2016, Rick joined Tripoint Global Equities, a broker dealer, to advise small growing companies and to assist them in raising capital.
In 2016, Rick left Tripoint to focus on his boards, his investments, and to position Wilmot Advisors ( a wholly owned LLC) as a consultant to emerging growth companies as it relates to capital acquisition and allocation.
Through the years, Rick has structured many financings, both public and private, in multiple industries. He also has been a very active venture capital investor.
