Bio: Michelle Hinchey is a communications professional currently working as the Director, Corporate Communications for EPIX, a premium entertainment TV network, overseeing all outward-facing strategic business initiatives as well as internal communications. After graduating from Cornell University in 2009 with a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in media starting out as a publicity assistant at DKC News (formerly Dan Klores Communications). In 2010, she took time off to work on her father Rep. Maurice Hinchey’s last reelection campaign as an overall aide traveling throughout the district, assisting with GOTV efforts, facilitating interviews and hosting fundraising rallies. During that time, she re-ignited her passion for politics and after the election, returned to work for the grassroots non-profit The Fund for the Public Interest where she canvassed throughout the Tri-State area, raising money and awareness to help ban Hydraulic Fracturing in upstate New York. Because of efforts like this, Gov. Cuomo signed a moratorium on Fracking across NYS. Michelle then joined BrightLine, an innovative adtech company where she served in multiple roles building the company’s inexistent marketing and communications department, leaving for EPIX in 2015 as the Director, Marketing and Communications. From 2013–2015, Michelle also served on the board as the Communications Director for the Manhattan Young Democrats, the largest young democrat organization in the country. During this time, she was also a founder of New York Next, a political action committee focused on engaging and advocating for young New Yorkers. Having grown up in politics, she’s had the incredible opportunity to see and understand government from the ground up including participation in Congressional Delegations to foreign countries for public policy conferences on topics including Energy and Environmental policy, Trade, International Relations, and Climate Change.
