Bio: Linda Jackson is a Stage Manager who has experience in all aspects of production for performing arts companies, and has worked as a production stage manager, production coordinator and production manager for such companies as Houston Grand Opera, Greater Miami Opera, Texas Opera Theater, Portland Opera and New York City Opera National Company. Her training as a stage manager prepared her for development as an arts administrator which led to becoming the first African American woman to run a professional opera company in the United States when she was appointed General Director of Chautauqua Opera. In addition to her many years working in senior management positions at regional opera companies, she has also served as the Managing Director of artist Robert Wilson’s Byrd Hoffman Watermill Foundation and 651, An Arts Center at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She is a graduate of Douglass College at Rutgers University with a BA in Theater Arts and English.
