Bio: Ian Turner is a songwriter, composer, recording and performance artist, whose work re- contextualizes the roots of Orientalism and American Popular Music amidst the hyper-modernity of the 21 century. In 2012, he completed his debut solo album entitled BUKU LOVE. Mr. Turner collaborated with sound artist Julianne Swartz to makeTactile Sound Accumulation for the Whitney Museum of American Art as part of the Yayoi Kusama retrospective. He composed the score for Alexandra Eaton’s Indian neo-realist documentary Bombay Movie. Other professional works include performance as a dancer in EmmaGrace Skove-Epes’ A Lesson in French, at Judson Memorial Church.
