Gabe Beer

Bio: Hi! My name is Gabriel and I recently graduated from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, studying Economics, Computer Science, and the Business of Entertainment. Throughout my time at WashU, I accumulated a combination of client management soft skills and a data analytics approach to content distribution. While working as Treasurer for the on-campus music magazine, AUX, I redesigned the advertising model to not only cut costs but also target the relevant market segment of WashU students. The QR code integrated flier gave students direct access to the free publication, increasing the number of readers by 474%. Additionally, I assist the Director of Research in Economics, Glenn MacDonald, and the Olin Marketing department in maintaining schedules on Excel, executing on-campus events, client outreach and adobe cloud content creation. During my final year at WashU, I founded Pi Rho Mu, the first professional fraternity dedicated to recruitment preparation and professional development within the entertainment industry. As president, I recruited 41 active members and coordinated semester activities of which include a case competition, an industry speaker series and multiple Weston Career Center sponsored workshops. Outside of my university involvement, I applied my economics and data analytics background in internships surrounding content management. During my internship with Rooftop Films, I collaborated with executives to assemble the festival’s program, conducted database maintenance within Airtable, and composed analyses of international short film events. In winning a case competition hosted by Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate, I had the opportunity to shadow him onsite, examine content reception data, and provide research-supported feedback to short form distribution. Continuing into my Summer internship, I reported summaries of historical box office and international revenue data for Lionsgate’s Acquisitions and Co- Productions department to further investigate a potential acquisition’s audience engagement. Since graduation, I have been working at NexCore, an incubator in St. Louis, as a Content Management Consultant. Alongside a small team, I am co-producing a live stream-a-thon, airing July 9th-11th, to champion the entrepreneurs of St. Louis and celebrate Small Business Independence Day.
