Bio: Fiona is a media and entertainment attorney and a jazz/lounge singer/songwriter. She started her singing career studying opera at the Royal Queensland Conservatorium. Fiona returned to the U.K in her twenties where she pursued a career as a singer/songwriter, firstly as the main singer on the album “Hypnotone AI” released on Creation Records in the U.K, and then with her band Transit UK distributed by Neurodisc Recordings entitled “Global Lounge” and “Café Lounge”. Fiona performed regularly on the London jazz scene at various venues with some of London’s top jazz musicians and as part of the Soho Jazz Festival. Fiona’s smoky jazz/lounge style evokes influences ranging from classic swing jazz performers such as Ella Fitzgerald to contemporary cross over jazz/pop artists such as Rickie Lee Jones. Fiona also studied law and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2005 after training with Harbottle and Lewis LLP, a media and entertainment law firm. Fiona has 8 years experience as a UK qualified solicitor specialising in media, and entertainment covering the industries of internet and mobile distribution services, television broadcasting, music, live event and modeling agencies. In 2009, Fiona joined a startup internet and mobile distribution company, Babelgum as Senior Legal Counsel. More recently Fiona provided UK legal and business affairs consulting services to Pacific Global Management UK Ltd advising the group companies in London, Paris, Milan and China in relation to all in house legal and business affairs arising out of television and live event programmes, high fashion modeling agencies, product licensing and sponsorship arrangements. Fiona worked as a television programming and live event production lawyer, for Entertainment Rights Ltd, then UKTV, a joint venture company set up between BBC Worldwide and Virgin Media where she provided legal and business affairs advice to ten different cable channels from History, Food, Style and Entertainment.
