Bio: Erica Bunin was an attorney in the securities brokerage business for 20 years. She started with Dean Witter's Legal Department in 1986 as a Vice President in a plaintiff's litigation group. After three years, she became the head of that group, which subsequently merged with an employment practices unit. She was later promoted to Senior Vice President and a co-head of the entire employment unit, which handled employment and discrimination matters against the firm. Dean Witter merged with Morgan Stanley in 1997 and, now an Executive Director, Ms. Bunin maintained her position as co-head of the employment practices unit. She was later given the position of head of a broker recruiting group that was responsible for issues relating to new broker recruiting and compensation, as well as broker departures. Ms. Bunin maintained her position as head of this group until she retired from Morgan Stanley in December 2006. Since then, she has done volunteer work for a non-profit organization devoted to protecting free expression in the arts, sciences, academia and on the Internet. She also served for two years as President of the Board of Directors of Danspace Project, a well-known dance organization that sponsors and commissions new choreographic work in contemporary dance. In 2009, she was on the Lawyers' Committees for the campaigns of Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Leslie Crocker-Snyder, who ran for Manhattan District Attorney. In 2008 she started a real estate brokerage business with a partner, having obtained a New York real estate broker's license. She has also maintained her license to practice law in New York and is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Association.
