Bio: Dave Mallen is an award-winning Music Producer, Recording Engineer, Multi-instrumentalist, and Music Business Strategist. A veteran of the DC area music scene, Dave Mallen set out to create a “one-stop shop”, where artists of all kinds could collaborate with a skilled producer/engineer and and be given the tools necessary to forge a path to success in the music industry via customized business strategy. Dave's highly intuitive, empathic, and personalized approach to artist/song development, production, and music business coaching has amplified the careers of over 300 artists from the DC area and beyond, earning him two "WAMMIE" awards for "Best Music Studio" in the Washington, DC area and numerous other songwriting awards and honors. Dave is also extremely dedicated to serving his community. In 2009, Dave co-founded the Metro Music Source, a pro-bono effort aimed at supporting the DC area music community. In recognition of his work with the local music community, Dave received a 2013 WAMMIE nomination for "Most Supportive of Washington DC Music". Taking the Metro Music Source to the next level, at the start of the pandemic, he co-founded a new entity called the DMV Music Alliance. The Alliance is a grass-roots fiscally-sponsored non-profit organization serving the needs of the DC area's diverse and talent-rich music community, providing financial assistance (e.g. need-based grants), educational resources, networking opportunities, and forward-thinking initiatives that help position the DMV as a more unified and nationally-recognized music scene. Dave Mallen is a voting Member of the Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy (the GRAMMYs), and holds a Masters Certificate from the Berklee College of Music in Music Business and Technology. He is also a member of the steering committee for Fair Trade Music DC, and holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
