Bio: Cheryl Schneider is CEO of The Mac Works Inc , a company providing IT consulting, technical services, and training. Founded in NYC, and relocated in the Hudson Valley, The Mac Works specializes in helping businesses and organizations implement Apple technologies to achieve their goals and gain competitive advantage in their industries. With over 20 years of business and IT experience, Cheryl has guided scores of organizations through successful technology transitions while eliminating many of the problems and frustrations associated with change; her client list includes Sports Illustrated, Apple, New York Public Interest Research Group, New School, Empire State College, SUNY New Paltz, Carmelite Sisters, Kaz, and Price Chopper. The Mac Works developed 4 versions of a suicide prevention app for iOS and Android that has been customized for Ulster, Dutchess, Albany, and Onondaga counties in NY State; and they created a Domestic Violence prevention app for Ulster County. In 2008, Cheryl was an Apple Network Engineer at Command Financial Press in lower Manhattan, where she managed a dozen servers in 2 states, including the firm's backup and storage systems. She made significant contributions to Command's pursuit of the ISO 27001 certification for data integrity and security. Ms Schneider is author of the “Co-Existing with PCs” chapter of The Macintosh Bible, and technical editor for the "Macintosh OS X Bible". She taught in SUNY Ulster's Cisco program, and trained thousands of IT professionals to support and network Apple technologies for Apple throughout the US. Cheryl speaks at regional and national conferences, including the Computer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 2013, where she discussed the current state of Mobile Device Management. Ms Schneider holds a BS in Atmospheric Sciences from the State University of New York at Albany, along with a series of industry certifications.
