Bio: Austin Khym is an Acquisition Analyst for Highline Storage Partners, LLC (HSP). Austin is primarily responsible for transaction underwriting, due diligence, risk assessment, financial analysis, deal structuring, asset-level investment strategy, project management and closing. Austin brings his strong background in data analysis to the management of the acquisition funnel and underwriting process. Prior to joining Highline Storage Partners, Austin worked in SaaS sales as an Account Executive for Yardi Matrix, an industry leader for commercial real estate market intelligence. While at Yardi Matrix, Austin was a top performer amongst his peers with the highest production value in the first twelve months of sales, since the inception of Matrix in July 2013. During this period, Austin focused his attention on the self-storage industry and represented Yardi Matrix at self-storage related conferences, tradeshows and events. Preceding Yardi Matrix, Austin developed his finance background, particularly in private wealth management and estate planning, during his time at Signature Estate and Investment Advisors in Century City, CA. Austin held an advisory role, where he directly guided investor’s on suitability analysis, portfolio construction, stock option management, legacy & estate planning and private placement/equity investments. Prior to his advisory position, Austin was a research analyst responsible for market analysis, portfolio and product management, risk assessment, asset allocation and worked closely with the Bloomberg Data Terminal along with various proprietary financial/risk models. While an undergraduate student at Vassar, Austin worked for Colliers International under EVP Chris Sheehan’s industrial brokerage team in Greater Los Angeles. Austin was involved with asset valuation along with cash flow analysis for the team through Argus Enterprise. In addition, he supported the feasibility and underwriting processes for various industrial assets and land along with canvassing potential deals while aiding in the management of the deal pipeline. During his internship with Colliers, Austin was involved in roughly $27.5 million in transactions. Austin has a B.A. in Economics and Urban Studies from Vassar College where he founded the first finance related club named the Brewer Investments Group and played a turbulent, gentlemen’s sport called Rugby. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and an advisor to the Florence Belsky Charitable Foundation. Austin is on a journey to visit as many developing nations before turning 35 years old and is currently at 12. Food tours, Jeopardy and re-runs of Huell Howser’s California’s Gold are his simple pleasures.
