Bio: After a year heavily under the influence of bebop trumpeter Pat Harbison, Scrote continued studying jazz with classic bop guitarist Jack Peterson and then earned a Bachelors of Music Composition under experimental music maestro Larry Austin at the University of North Texas. Currently, Scrote writes, records, and performs with many of the top players and artists in and out of Los Angeles such as Lyle Workman, Paul Bushnell, Holly Palmer, Jeff Babko, Blair Sinta, Jamie Muhoberac, Gary Novak, Tim Lefevbre, and countless others. In addition to his LA-based work, he consistently works in San Francisco, Austin, New York, Berlin, and many places in between and beyond. He has performed across the US, Germany, Egypt, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, France, Denmark, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Bulgaria, and Monaco. Scrote has produced, recorded and/or performed with a wide array of notable artists including: Daniel Johnston, Puscifer, Jackson Browne, No Doubt, Fred Frith, Joe Sumner, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Blake Mills, David Garza, Carina Round, Jackie DeShannon, Paul Barker, Reeves Gabrels, Van Dyke Parks, Wayne Kramer (MC5), Rhys Chatham, Michael Des Barres, and David Yow (Jesus Lizard). He has composed, performed, mixed, and/or produced music for award winning independent & feature films as well as network TV such as A&E, PBS, CNN, Frontline World, USA, CNET, SciFi, & CMT.
