Friends and Advisors
Thanks to everyone who came to last Monday’s First Monday’s/NYC. Here are some initial photos of the event: http://florencebelskyfoundation.org/gallery/japanese-crafts/
After discussions with special guest artist Hashino and advisor Yohei Suzuki , we have decided to launch a new “Committee on Sustainability “ for our many advisors interested in the subject and in combating Climate Change. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join the new committee. Climate Change is real and may be the most pressing issue of our time. A great subject for intergenerational mentoring.
One of our goals is to have a possible presence at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, where the theme will be Sustainability and “Be Better , Together” (see: https://tokyo2020.org/en/games/sustainability/) . Hashino designed the wooden base that held the Olympic Torch for the last Olympics in Japan so it is only fitting that we try to have a presence at the 2020 Olympics.
Thanks to Dr. Tom Kamber , founder of OATS, for his inspiring presentation. We are hoping to develop some joint programs in technology and senior Entrepreneurship with his National Senior Planet network and co-working spaces . For more information about Tom and Senior Planet, go to : https://seniorplanet.org/
Thanks also to advisor Nafsica for setting the tone with her new song “Beat of My Drum”. Here are links to Spotify and Youtube if you haven’t heard it yet: https://open.spotify.com/album/4gwnbEhu3hA0pefRDd30wR

We’d like to welcome our new advisors :
We’d also like to welcome our new Associate Director Rivka Rivera. If you haven’t had a chance to meet her yet , please see her note below.
Hello FLOBEL community,
My name is Rivka Rivera and I am looking forward to serving as the new Associate Director. In a world inundated with social media and ‘cyber networking,’
I am grateful to this foundation for creating a vital group of real-life connections on the basis of shared interests and mentorship.
I know many of you have already experienced the magic of connecting with fellow FLOBEL advisors- perhaps through our Pick 3 Program or at a
First Mondays event – and for many of us those those connections have led to professional collaborations, inspiring conversations, friendships and so much more.
Not only is this community intergenerational – it is so diverse in what each advisor brings to the table in terms of career and life experience.
Over the next few months we will be collecting stories about your meaningful experiences and connections made with fellow advisors to share with everyone.
I look forward to connecting with you all and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions that you may have: Rivka@flobel.org.
She is helping us with our branding and communications . Please email email@example.com if you’d like to help .
Please support our advisors and partners listed below.
