The Music Committee held its first panel on October 1st at 78 Below in Manhattan.  The event was called “Building Your Career as a DIY Artist” and was the first in a series of four such panels.  Panel #1 discussed general business practices for the DIY music artist.  The panel addressed the questions “Who are the most important people to help me build my career and when do I need them?”  Panelists included Ben Rubin, an independent songwriter, musician and producer, Rachel Sage an independent singer and songwriter, Rick Goetz, the owner of Music Coaching and Barry Heyman of Heyman Law.  The panel was moderated by singer/songwriter Dusty Wright who also owns the Culture Catch.  Immediately after the panel discussion, there were performances by Rachel Sage and Left on Red.
