Bio: Alexa began dancing professionally at the age of 8 with Ballet Met, Miami City Ballet, & The Harlem Globe Trotters half time show. She also volunteered her time performing for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital fundraisers and speaking on Joe DiMaggio’s Family Advisory Counsel. With an absolute love for performing and connecting with audiences, Alexa soon took up singing and acting. Alexa’s triple threat abilities landed her the role of Velma Kelly in the musical Chicago at Coral Springs Center for the Performing Arts when she was 15. Soon after, Alexa performed in an Off-Broadway show in NY and had her mind set on moving to New York for college. When Alexa arrived in NY, she didn’t know anybody. Shortly after, by fate, she made her National Television debut when she was cast on an episode of MTV’s True Life. Another highlight for Alexa was when she danced on a Broadway stage for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids’ Easter Bonnet with Corbin Bleu. While continuing to audition in the city, Alexa was cast on numerous Film and TV sets to do background work. It was her experience working on the set of Disney’s Step Up 3D that began to fuel her into serious songwriting mode. She was inspired by just being on set and being around some of the best dancer’s in the world. She felt like she was living in a Flashdance movie scene from the 80s. And from that inspiration, Alexa developed and recorded her first album. It has a Retro-Pop groove with soulful melodies and heartful lyrics. Every girl who ever moves to Manhattan needs to hear this album. <3 Twitter: @itsALEXAonline
