Wheeler Jackson’s multi-faceted production background began in 1975 with Public Television station WNET/13 in New York City. His first Production Assistant job was with BILL MOYERS’ JOURNAL. Later he worked on music fundraising specials with Jack Sameth creating memorable shows such as “AMERICAN POP”, “SONG BY SONG”, FRED WARING and “SATCHMO”. As an Associate Producer, he worked on documentary format programming including PBS’s acclaimed JOURNEY TO THE WEST with producer Don Dixon. During the early 1980’s he line produced political commercials for PRESS BRENNER COMMUNICATIONS. The campaigns included Andrew Stein, Walter Mondale, Mark Dayton, Robert Byrd and Richard Thornberg. In the mid-1980’s he created a home video division for CCR Video in New York where he produced and directed a variety of instructional home videos. Mr. Jackson ventured into Cable Television, working as a producer for “POWER PROFILES” a show featuring Fortune 500 CEO’s and broadcast on the FINANCIAL NEWS NETWORK. He continues to work as a field producer / writer for a variety of “reality” & magazine style shows featured on the DISCOVERY CHANNEL, LEARNING CHANNEL, TV FOOD NETWORK, TNN, TBS, COURT TV, WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT the PAX NETWORK and FOX SPORTS NET. As a Field Producer, he has worked on syndicated programs, including REAL STORIES OF THE HIGHWAY PATROL; AMERICA’S MOST WANTED; THE JOAN LUNDEN SHOW and Richard Simmons’s “ DREAM MAKER”. From 1994-1997 he was the assistant Assignment Desk Editor for the magazine show A CURENT AFFAIR, a Fox Television production. Mr. Jackson has been producing corporate videos since the early 1980’s and for the past three years working in association with Creative Media Productions in the corporate sector with clients including KRAFT GENERAL FOODS, PEPSI, PHILIP MORRIS, TV GUIDE, IBM, MARSH, INGERSOL RAND and DURACELL.
