Sheryl is a versatile training professional with expertise in the full learning and development lifecycle. Additionally, she is also an academic with expertise in adult learning. Sheryl has an AB (with double honors) from Vassar in Hispanic Studies, an MA from Hunter in Applied Linguistics and a PhD from Fordham University in Language, Literacy and Learning. She is also a member of various academic honor societies and professional organizations. Sheryl has worked in the financial services industry for Fortune companies such as American Express Travel Related Services, Inc., General Electric Capital Corporation, and Marsh and McLennan, Inc. She is a Training Director for the Casualty business at AIG. While Sheryl has more than 15 years in the learning and development space, the foundation of her instructional practice is derived from her previous career in higher education. She was a composition and rhetoric professor at several institutions: SUNY, CUNY, and for profit. Notably, Sheryl co-developed the first baccalaureate program at the College of Westchester, surburban New York, and became its first dean. Sheryl has also effectively leveraged communications as an integral component of employee education practice. This focus and expertise resulted in a recent opportunity to write monthly blogs on regulatory matters for training vendor EdComm. Lastly, Sheryl is a native New Yorker and indulges in the full spectrum of city life. She is also well-travelled . Sheryl resides in Dutchess County, New York with her daughter and toy poodle.
