Nina Kobiashvili graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design with a BA (Hons) in Theatre & Performance Design. She then received a Commendation of Excellence Award from the BBC Vision Design Awards for Production Design. Prior to her career in set design, she graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University, Georgia with an MSc (Hons) in General Internal Medicine. Nina Kobiashvili is international stage designer whose projects range from theatre to global Sporting Events, Films and TV. She has been working in several countries: UK, Germany, Canada, Russia and Georgia. Projects include: Set design for the World Premiere Touring Production of the musical on ice Romeo and Juliet at the Verona Arena, Italy. Directed by Ilya Averbukh. This spectacular production brings together over 60 World, Olympic and European Championship skaters. Production design for Remembrance Ballet by Greg Billingsley for the New English Ballet at the Peacock Theatre, London, choreographed by Wayne Eagling (former principal at The Royal Ballet and Artistic Director of the English National Ballet). Set design for the play, The Audience by Peter Morgan, at The Moscow State Theatre of Nations, Russia, 2017. Directed by Gleb Panfiliov, Cannes Prize Award-winning director for creative contribution to film and Honored Professor of the National Academy of Cinematographic Science and Arts in Russia. Set design for the musical on ice, Carmen by Ilya Averbukh at the Olympic Park, Sochi, Russia, 2015. Stage design for Gorby 80: The Man Who Changed the World (the Mikhail Gorbachev charitable gala concert and award ceremony), at the Royal Albert Hall, London, 2011. Directed by Felix Mikhaylov. Production design for the TV drama, Poppy Shakespeare, Channel Four TV, UK, 2007. Awarded the Panavision Spirit Award for Independent Cinema at the 24th Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Directed by Benjamin Ross for Cowboy Films.
