As the Principal Entertainment, IP and Business attorney at Sotto Legal, LLC and with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment business and community, Nicole Sotto, Esq. has gained a unique mix and deeper understanding of her client’s needs. As the founder of Sotto Legal, she strives to build a personalized experience with transparent communication and with cost-effective options. Nicole has been honored to have won Entertainment Lawyer of the Year in New York by the Corporate Intl Magazine Global Award in 2019 and the Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Gold 2018 and Avvo Clients’ Choice Award 2018. She serves as a member of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and a member of the ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industry and New York City Bar Association. Her membership with both the Professional Skaters Association and the Screen Actors Guild has positioned her to be actively involved and to better understand the needs of performers. Nicole is of Cuban descent and fluent in Spanish, she helps mentor minority law students through the Council of Legal Education Opportunity and supports the Hispanic entertainment community through Prime Latino Media. Prior to law school, Nicole has worked in corporate law on multi-million dollar M&A deals as a lead paralegal in the Latin American Department for Latham and Watkins LLP. Nicole currently represents both traditional and a new wave of artists and creatives. As a response to the ever-growing development of new streaming services, she understands the legal obstacles that independent TV producers and independent film producers face. She helps social media influencers carry out their business goals and helps brands work with influencers, she knows the common legal issues they face and sets up the protections that are needed. Nicole represents other creative entrepreneurs and online business owners who have multiple revenue streams and a virtual team of employees and contractors. She also represents the traditional artists, from actors, authors, visual artists, musicians, as well as fashion and interior designers. Nicole protects diverse clients by properly setting up their transactional and Intellectual Property needs.
