Joy is a senior level fundraising executive with over three decades of broad-based experience. She has successfully raised funds and provided consulting for a diversity of small to mid-sized non-profit organizations including Theatre Development Fund, Theatre Communications Group, Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, the International Theatre & Literacy Project, The Long Beach Jazz Festival, the United Jewish Appeal and the National Victim Center, among others. For several years, she served on the Board of the New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) as Vice President of Professional Advancement. In this capacity, she planned and implemented year-round professional development programs for fundraising professionals at all levels of experience. She also co-chaired AFP's career mentoring program at Fundraising Day in New York, an annual conference, and ran AFP's biannual Resume and Career clinics. Along with a colleague, she recently founded Forward Fundraising (firstname.lastname@example.org; website under construction), a consulting firm that helps small to mid-sized non-profits in the arts and human service sectors with grant writing, prospect research, strategic planning and social media. In addition to her fundraising experience, she is a certified Life Coach from the Coach Training Alliance. In her coaching practice, she helps people in transition including job and career changes and challenges, divorce and step-parenting.
