Poet and editor Jan Freeman is the author of Hyena and Simon Says, which was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award. She has recently completed a new collection of poems, Blue Structure. Her work has appeared in many anthologies and journals, including The American Poetry Review, The Oxford Companion to Women Writers in the U.S., The Massachusetts Review, the Women?s Review of Books, The Southern Review, and Prairie Schooner. She has been a contributing editor to The American Poetry Review since 1987. Jan is a MacDowell Fellow and is the director of Paris Press, a small not-for-profit 501©(3) press that publishes daring and groundbreaking literature by women that has been overlooked by readers, educators, and the mainstream publishing world.
