Heather Lea Gerdes
Heather Lea Gerdes was born on Sunset Beach, California. She began her career as a dancer, training in the Cecchetti Method (AISTD) and performing with the Florida Ballet Company. Heather developed and established her strengths as a teacher and choreographer working in New York, Japan, Vienna, London, Los Angeles, and Orlando. In New York, Heather performed the role of Velma in the Broadway Revival of West Side Story, and also toured throughout Italy and France. She also performed in the Broadway production of Copperfield and danced the female lead in Fosse’s Dancin’ in London’s West End. After the show’s run, she performed with the London company of Cats as part of the AEA/BEA Artist Exchange program. Heather has worked on over thirty films from background to day-player roles. She was one of the original dancers in Dirty Dancing! Heather appeared in The Grinch in the Whoville Choir and in An American Carol. On TV, she danced in two episodes of Two and a Half Men, Glee, and pilots for ABC and CBS. Heather holds a BA in Motion Picture Technology. She directed and produced a documentary entitled, “Save the Last Drive-In. She’s also worked behind the scenes on set crews and in casting. Heather is certified in Group Fitness (AFAA) training and teaches and certifies instructors in Country Cardio® dance exercise, a program of her creation that fuels her fitness passion. Heather is represented by Clear Talent Group for dance and commercials. She is the Script Department Supervisor for LMNO Cable Group, where she works on multiple cable network shows. She’s a member of SAG, AFTRA, AEA, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
