Gary Koeppel is a Supervising Deputy District Attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Koeppel has been a Deputy District Attorney for the past 32 years. Prior to that he work for the California Attorney General's Office in San Francisco. Mr. Koeppel has tried over 50 criminal jury trials and has prosecuted crimes ranging in severity from misdemeanor driving under the influence to major felonies such as murder, rape, robbery, drug sales and manufacturing, and major white collar fraud. Currently, he is supervising the consumer and environmental protection unit in the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. In that capacity, he has civilly prosecuted major corporations for false advertising, unlawful business practices and environmental crimes and violations. Mr. Koeppel graduated the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1978 with a degree in psychology; and Southwestern Law School in 1982 with a Juris Doctor degree. Outside of the legal profession, Mr. Koeppel served for Ten years as the treasurer of the Berkeley Richmond Jewish Community Center (currently the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay.) He also server for six years on the board of Camp Tawonga, a Jewish summer camp based in San Francisco and located in the Sierra Mountains near Yosemite.
