Dorothy Doppstadt the president of Surge Partners Company, teaches college students how to “surge ahead” and achieve in the professional world. Faculty and students have applauded her workshops as relevant, informative and engaging. Her combination of corporate experience at ABC NEWS as a national award-winning reporter and her ten years teaching experience as a writing professor at various universities and colleges in and around New York City are valuable assets for preparing students as they launch into an increasingly competitive work environment. Professor Doppstadt has taught broadcast writing and production at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and has developed courses at Fordham University, including the journalism core requirement, screenwriting, Shakespeare in Film, and advanced writing for the media. She has also taught business writing, magazine writing and feature writing at Manhattan College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent. She has a Master of Fine Arts in writing, a terminal degree, from Columbia University. Sony Pictures and Avenue Production have optioned several of her original screenplays.
