Bette Prinsen is presently at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as a substitute ballet teacher in the Ailey Extension Program for Adults and also at Broadway Dance Center as a substitute ballet teacher in New York City. She has also taught at Ballet Hispanico and the Zena Rommet floor-barre in New York City. Among her many teaching credits, Bette has been the Director of the Ballet Department of the Great Neck Arts Center as well as ballet instructor for the Usdan Center for Creative and Performing Arts on Long Island. After dancing professionally in NYC, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta for many years Bette began her own successful contemporary ballet company, Ballet En Noir, and later received her Master of Arts in Dance and Dance Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College. She also holds a Bachelors degree from Vassar College.
