Born and raised in Manhattan, Annette Candido has a BA from Vassar College and a JD from Hofstra University School of Law. Annette’s practice of law included serving as Law Assistant to the Judges of the Manhattan Civil Court, Landlord/Tenant Part, as well as Disciplinary Advocate and later Deputy Commissioner of Legal Affairs for the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. Having relocated from Manhattan, Annette and husband Larry have been residents of Pelham, New York since 1992, where they raised their three sons. An active member of the Pelham community since 1992, Annette has served on numerous community boards including the Pelham Family Service and Pelham Art Center. Most recently, Annette has chaired five record breaking Pelham Art Center Fundraisers. The Spring 2012 “Havana Nights” benefit was a sold out event, the Fall 2012 “Studio Cafe” broke records for any Fall fundraiser and the Spring 2013 “Factory Party”, the 2014 “Diner en Blanc”, and the 2015 “Beautiful” also exceeded all previous Spring fundraisers since the founding of the Pelham Art Center in 1985. Annette also served as Chairman of the Pelham Art Center’s Board of Directors for seven years. Annette is currently the Community Content Manager and Editor at Burbio.com. Burbio is a community resource designed to solving the problems that residents have keeping up to date with all of their family members’ local activities, organizers have managing groups, and local non-profits, governments, and businesses have telling people about their events. As Community Content Manager, Annette is responsible for editing the weekly "This Week In" (TWIN) editions for over 150 communities in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, including ensuring that each TWIN is balanced in a comprehensive way with regard to the activities and events in each town.
