Andrew "Ayo B" O'Brien is an artist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and label executive from New York. He began his musical journey at the age of 4, playing drums and piano. He continued private piano study and playing percussion in band and orchestra throughout high school. At 13 he taught himself guitar and began producing beats on a 4-track tape recorder. He formed his first band, as a drummer at 15 and played in various bands throughout college, primarily focused on acoustic and electric guitar. During those years, his music was heavily influenced by hip-hop and jam bands like Wu-Tang Clan, Phish, and Dave Matthews. After graduating with a science degree from Le Moyne College, Andrew worked for five years as a pharmaceutical research chemist where he found success with an invention for a patented process in development of an experimental cancer drug. Soon however, he returned to music creation and started playing keys for Stickmen Play and helped start the band Mirk which became well-known in upstate New York. They toured parts of the country and released four albums. Mirk also produced a record for Jay-Z during this time. While playing keyboards for MIrk, Ayo became friends with rapper Mr. Cheeks, and the two founded Wundertwinz Records along with Cheeks' brother. Through that company, Ayo executive-produced and performed on Cheeks' comeback album "Raised". Also collaborating on that project was Stephen Marley, who became friends with Ayo and has taken time to mentor him on production and the music business. In 2016 Ayo began assembling yet another project for Mr. Cheeks, "See Me". In addition, he recently completed his own debut singles, "This Music" and "Run Wild", as part of a 7-song EP. Ayo B currently resides in the Albany, NY area where he has a studio, and frequents Miami and New York City for work.
